Know And Rely On the Love God Has For Us

Last night Brian and I went to Fort Edmonton to watch a live play at the Capitol Theatre which was originally built in 1906. The play was amazing! It was entitled "Jack and the Beanstalk" with extremely talented actors, singers and dancers from Edmonton.

Since it was our first time at Fort Edmonton, Brian and I strolled the rest of this small historic town afterwards.

Our favourite building was this little church where a short drama took place entitled "The Gift of the Three Magi".

It was a wonderful evening reminiscing how life was like many years ago when things were so much more simple, but when love was greater and more easily understood.

"And so we know
and rely on the love
God has for us.
God is love.
Whoever live in love,
lives in God,
and God in them."
1 John 4:16 (NIV)

Jesus Is Our Joy and Delight

Jesus is a joy and a delight to every one who knows Him! That is why many rejoice because of His birth.

"He will be a joy
and delight to you,
and many will rejoice
because of His birth."
Luke 1:14 (NIV)

A Great Joy To All People!

"I bring you good news,
that will cause great joy
to all people."
Luke 2:10 (NIV)

Last night, some friends and I went to tour the Leduc Country Lights, a spectacular five-acre display of Christmas lights.

It is a major fund-raiser for the local food bank and the owner's way of giving back to the community.

The owner's most cherished childhood memory of Christmas is simple. It is when his family went every year to the Royal Canadian Legion to see Santa Clause and receive a brown paper bag filled with an orange, some peanuts and candy.

The owner's display may have cost him over $100,000, but last year he was able to donate 7,000 pounds of food to the needy, plus spread the Christmas spirit to all people. And the Christmas spirit causes great joy to all people because the birth of Jesus Christ is such good news!

Love Them As Yourself

"When a foreigner resides among you in your land,
do not mistreat them.
The foreigner residing among you
must be treated as your native-born.
Love them as yourself."
Leviticus 19:33-34

These are my Fall English as a second language students. They are immigrants from all over the world. Each one of them is a wonderful part of Canada and my life! They may be of different colours and cultures, but we are one family, united together by love and friendship. They are gifts from God and my life has become so much richer because of them!

Yesterday, we had a Christmas potluck, sang Christmas songs and shared the story about the birth of Jesus Christ.
