Categorizing Believers By Their Church's Title

A church congregation is not a sports team in which you compete against other sports team. All Christian churches are to be working together and cheering each other on as they all work towards the same purpose and goal: to reach souls for the Kingdom of God. There is only one family of God, not several.

Therefore, Christians should be very careful that they do not glorify their church's name, and boast about their church's ministries, pastoral staff members, programs, monthly tithes, or large numbers. We are to glorify God and boast only about about Him. I never believe in "prophetic" messages that state that a church, mentioning specifically the church's title, is going to be the best, biggest, and most influential church in the city. Such a message only fuels man's pride, and pride will eventually lead to a fall. God does not favour one church over another, nor do I believe God would single out one church over another. There is only one church in God's eyes, and that is the Kingdom of God.

There is one body and one Spirit —
just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call."
Ephesians 4:4 (ESV)

Jesus Christ loves the Church — that's all believers! And in return, we are to love God and all people. Each believer is a son or daughter of God and a member of His Kingdom. We need to be careful that we don't separate or categorize Christians by the title of their church.
