Let Salvation Spring Up

Yesterday as I was strolling past my flower gardens, enjoying the warmth and sunshine of another lovely spring day, I was excited to see sprouts springing forth out of the soil.

This verse immediately came to mind:

"You heavens above,

rain down righteousness;

let the clouds shower it down.

Let the earth open wide,

let salvation spring up,

let righteousness grow with it;

I, the Lord, have created it."

Isaiah 45:8 (NIV)

This is the prayer of all Christians past and present: that God would rain down His righteousness from the heavens above so that the earth would open wide and salvation would spring up and righteousness would grow with it.

How wonderful it is to see the natural signs of spring upon the earth. But how much more wonderful it would be to see the spiritual signs of spring upon the earth!
