I think sometimes we tend to look at Scriptures with partial blindness and see only what we want to see. Or sometimes we just accept what we've been told by others. This prevents us from seeing the true picture and from having a complete understanding of God's Word.
Our cat, Osha, surprised us last night by climbing to the top of our cupboards. I think maybe he wanted to see the whole picture of the home he lives in and the family he lives with.
This is what we need to do to in reading God's Word: climb on top of the cupboards and look at the Bible with new and fresh eyes, as if we are reading it for the first time.
"Do not let his Book of the Law depart from your mouth;
meditate on it day and night,
so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.
Then you will be prosperous and successful."
Joshua 1:8 (NIV)
