On His Law He Meditates Day And Night

God says in His Word that blessed is the person who does not listen to ungodly counsel, because he/she recognizes what is contrary to God's Word. He/she is able to distinguish between the counsel of the wicked and the counsel of God because he/she has delighted in God's Holy Scriptures and mediated on it day and night.

"Blessed is the man

who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked

 or stand in the way of sinners

 or sit in the seat of mockers.

But his delight is in the Law of the Lord,

and on His Law he meditates day and night.

Psalm 1:1-2 (NIV)

Any person who stands in the way of sinners coming to God and having a closer relationship with Him is someone who does not love God's Word. Anyone who mocks another person, or even sits in with the mockers, does not have respect for God's Word. And if you do not respect and love God's Word, then you do not respect and love God.

We must each read and study the Word of God for ourselves, and when we do, we must do so with they eyes and heart of God's Holy Spirit. If we look at Scripture in parts and pieces and try to use God's Word for our own theology and moral standards, then we do not truly have a genuine desire to know God and serve Him.
