"By the seventh day
God had finished the work
he was doing;
so on the seventh day
he rested from all his work.
Then God blessed the seventh day
and made it holy,
because on it he rested
from all the work of creating
that he had done."
Genesis 2:2-3 (NIV)
God rested on the seventh day after creation not because He was weary from all his work, but because He was well-pleased. The Scriptures state clearly God never grows tired or weary.
"Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and His understanding no one can fathom."
Isaiah 40:28 (NIV)
God rested on the seventh day to enjoy all He created. The seventh day was a day of relaxing pleasure!
