Today, Brian and I went kayaking to the Rookery Islands in the late afternoon.
The Rookery Islands is a group of five tiny islands in Tarpon Bay where more than 230 species of birds go to roost for the night.
It was unbelievable to see so many species of birds all living together in one accord.
It is rare in other parts of the world for different kinds of bird to do this, but these birds are forced to live in unity for their safety.
The mainland is far too dangerous for the birds to sleep there for the night.
Many animals will prey on them and their young.
This Brown Pelican was drying out his wings.
The pink bird pictured in this picture is called a Roseate Spoonbill. This was the first time I have seen this kind of bird on the island.
The water was calm and peaceful. It was a perfect night to go kayaking.
Then the clouds came in at just the right time to make the sunset an even more spectacular picture.
How wonderful and pleasant it was to see the birds live together in harmony. It is the same with mankind.
"How wonderful and pleasant it is
when brothers live together in harmony."
Psalm 133:1 (NLT)
