That Stinks!

One on the main reasons Christians stop going to church is because of the reckless words of other Christians. The tongue can pierce like a sword and crush the spirit. It can also heal like salve and bring life.

"The words of the reckless

pierce like swords,

but the tongue of the wise

brings healing."

"The soothing tongue 

is a tree of life,

but a perverse tongue

crushes the spirit."

Proverbs 15:4 (NIV)

Christians love to publicly quote 1 Thessalonians 5:11: "So encourage one another and build each other up," but some in the very next breath are quick to hurt others and tear others down by their heartless, vile, and debasing words, demeanor, or tone of voice.

Body odour from nervousness, gym activities, or physical movements to help lift or carry things can produce an unpleasant smell. But it's a sharp tongue that is a stench to God.
