Fight The Battle With The Sword God Has Given Us

The Bible talks about people whose minds are closed and full of darkness, and whose hearts are hardened against God. They have wandered far from the life God gives. Today, we refer to such hard-hearted people as sociopaths. They lack a social conscience and moral responsibility. They have no sense of shame. Sociopaths live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity.

"Their minds are full of darkness;

they wander far

from the life God gives

because they have closed their minds

and hardened their hearts

against Him.

They have no sense of shame.

They live for lustful pleasure

and eagerly practice every kind of impurity."

Ephesians 4:18-19 (NLT)

In the news we hear of more and more of these sociopathic men and women in our society who commit horrible, unfathomable crimes with no remorse. Their minds are so full of darkness, shut closed against any of God's rays of light, that their hearts have hardened to stone.

As God's people, we must not neglect to teach, preach, and live His Word daily, for His Word is the only source of true light in our dark world.

God's Word is powerful. It is alive, active, and sharper than any double-edged sword. It can penetrate to divide soul and spirit, and joints and marrow. It can judge the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

"For the Word of God

is alive and active.

Sharper than any double-edged sword,

it penetrates

even to dividing soul and spirit,

joints and marrow;

it judges the thoughts

 and attitudes of the heart."

Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)

The more God's people use His Word, the more effective they will be. Let's use the Sword God has given us to fight the battle against Satan and all his evilness in our world.
