If Only You Would Hear His Voice

This is a Prairie Dog who lives at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. His warning call is similar to a dog's bark, and when he is excited, he wags tail back and forth. When this picture was taken, the Prairie Dog's tail was standing straight up and wagging vigorously back and forth. I guess he was nervous at seeing us and wondered if we were predators. Farmers like to shoot them. I was hoping I would get to hear his bark, but didn't.

The Holy Spirit is like this Prairie Dog. God wants to take care of and protect His children from danger. There are lots of traps and snares set up in this world by Satan. But if we listen for God's voice, the Holy Spirit will warn us against those perils.

"For He is our God

and we are the people of His pasture,

the flock under His care.

Today, if only you would hear His voice, . . ."
