A Prayer Request Turned Into An Idol

"If God doesn't answer my prayer, I will never trust Him again!"

A prayer request can sometimes turn into an idol if one constantly focuses one's attention on the prayer, seeking after the answer, instead seeking after God. In other words, one becomes obsessed with the prayer, that dominates all one's thoughts, feelings and desires. This is sin and it will hinder the answer to the prayer from coming.

The Bible says we are to seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously. If we do this, God will give us everything we need.

"Seek the Kingdom of God

above all else,

and live righteously,

and He will give you

everything you need."

Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

Praying is important, but we must never allow a prayer to become more important than God.
