Can A Church Become A God?

We cannot take any part of a church building with us to Heaven, but we can take souls with us. Why then is so much time and money spent on church buildings, and programs designed to please and entertain the people? Today many churches have become nothing more than a social club for self-centered Christians, and a beautiful building to admire and worship. As a result, many pastors are pressured to spend most of their time trying to make the people happy and manipulate them to give more money to pay the bills, instead of doing the work of God. Therefore, for many people and pastors, the church has taken the place of God in their lives. The Bible says we need to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things and pleasures.

"Set your minds on things above,

not on earthly things."
