The Need To Know How True It Is

Many people in churches believe that electric guitars are evil. As a result, godly musicians who have been given the desire and gift from God to play electric guitars feel unwelcome. A common hypocritical act is to ask an electric guitarist to play on a worship team for show, but then to tell the sound person to make sure he or she isn't heard.

Evilness lies in the heart, not in an instrument, and discriminating against a child of God is sin. The Bible says God shows no favoritism. In other words, He doesn't prefer one type of musician over another.

"Then Peter began to speak:
'I now realize how true it is
that God does not show favoritism.'"
Acts 10:34 (NIV)

In God's eyes, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free. There is no male and female, and no electric guitarist and harpist. We are all one in Christ Jesus.

"There is neither Jew nor Gentile,
neither slave nor free,
nor is there male and female,
for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
Galatians 3:28 (NIV)
