The Timothea Story

I wrote a drama for my sons to act out called the Timothea Story. Tim, the forlorn one, was Timothea, and Matilda and Christina were his wicked step-sisters.  Does this story sound familiar? The King was God the Father with whom Timothea developed a personal relationship with God after a neighbour invited her to Kid's Life. Once Timothea discovered the love of God, she readily forgave her evil step-sisters and invited them to Church with her, so they too can learn about this loving and gracious God. All the parents of the children at Kid's Life were invited to watch this drama and then share a dinner that all the leaders had prepared for them. Many did not know God personally; so the story, although it was funny to see my sons dressed up as girls, had a very serious message of the salvation of God.

"For the Lord your God is the God of gods and Lord of lords. He is the great God, the mighty and awesome God, who shows no partiality and cannot be bribed."
Deuteronomy 10:17

It is comforting to know that God does not favour the rich, the famous, the beautiful, the most talented nor the ones with the highest intellect in society.

I know Timothea was glad to hear this verse, since she was unkept and poorly dressed compared to her spoiled step-sisters:

I should add that my sons never cracked a smile acting their parts, even though the people at times were laughing uncontrollably. It was a story, I'm sure they will never forget.

I saddens me though to think how many people in the world mock the King of kings in what they say and do. The King loves us so much that he was willing to die a tortuous and agonizing death for the forgiveness of our sins. This is so one day we may be able to enter His Kingdom in eternity. What has any worldly king or prince ever done to compare to this? Knowing God as our King and being part of His kingdom is living the greatest fairy tale imaginable! Now that is something to celebrate.
