God Is Still Calling

When Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers who were fishermen. Their names were Peter and Andrew. As these two brothers were casting their net into the waters, Jesus called to them to follow Him because He was going to send them out to fish for people. Peter and Andrew responded to Jesus without hesitation. They left their nets at once and followed Him.

"As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee,
He saw two brothers,
Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew.
They were casting a net into the lake,
for they were fishermen.
'Come, follow Me,' Jesus said,
'and I will send you out to fish for people.'
At once they left their nets and followed Him."
John 4:18-19 (NIV)

All of God's people are called to fish for people, but sadly very few do. Instead, many fish for other things like money, blessings, popularity, and power, all of which are only temporal. If we listen carefully, God is still calling out for those who will follow Him and fish for people.
