The Bible says that when a follower of Christ prays with sincerity and fervour, his/her prayer is powerful, producing miraculous results, In other words the sick will be healed, loved ones will be saved, marriages will be restored, addicts will be delivered, and the unemployed will find jobs. Earnest prayer is mightily effective!
"The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
James 5:16
However, before we pray, it is vital that we first cleanse our hearts by asking God to search all its chambers and point out anything that goes against His character. If we have anger and resentment, we need to forgive. If we have hurt someone, we need to apologize. If we are greedy and uncharitable, we need to give. If we have hidden sin in our lives, we need to repent. If we have hate and prejudice, we need to love. If we have lust, we need to turn away. If we are selfish and self-centered, we need to care and show compassion.
"Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life."
Psalm 139:23-24
Before you begin to ask God for anything, pray this prayer above with sincerity. Make right anything that offends God, Then with a cleansed heart, pray with God's power and might, and watch God work with spectacular and amazing results!
