To Tend And To Watch Over

When Brian and I were in PEI, we regularly went to a public park that was so stunning it reminded me of what the Garden of Eden must have been like. The park even had a few sheep roaming about! Here are some pictures I took:

The garden was so splendid that the love and time spent caring for it was clearly visible. The sheep grazing on a patch of grass made the park even more divine.

When God made man, He immediately placed him in the Garden of Eden to care for it. God created us to love gardening!

"The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden
to tend and watch over it."
Genesis 2:15

It really doesn't surprise me to see retired people spend so much time in their flower and vegetable gardens. It is an inherited desire from God, for we are made in His image.

"So God created man in His own image,
in the image of God He created him,
male and female He created them."
Genesis 1:27

Many people say that gardening is therapeutic. Even though they may not realize it, this is because whenever they see seeds grow into productive plants, whenever they mow a lush, green lawn, whenever they pick delicious, fresh fruit from a tree, and whenever they view the glory of flowers in bloom, they are really sensing God's love and existence.
