Envy Rots The Bones

Yesterday, I adopted a male blue lynx point Siamese kitten. He is beautiful with a very sweet personality.

Here are some pictures my son Tim took of the kitten:

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and speaks volumes, so I will share this next picture of Hunter, my two-year-old Angora cat, when I first introduced the new kitten to her.

Do you think that possibly she is jealous?

The Bible says that a peaceful heart brings physical health to the body, but jealousy makes you physically sick.

"A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones."
Proverbs 14:30

Are there times when we get jealous over someone?

How about when a person receives recognition or an award for something that you felt you deserved?

Or when a person gets paid more than you for doing the same job?

Or when a new person comes into your church with the same gifting as you, but is more talented and starts receiving all the compliments?

Or when someone is better-looking or richer or smarter?

If so, immediately remind yourself that prolonged jealousy will make you sick while peace in your heart will bring health and wellness. In other words, jealousy isn't worth it! Let go of your jealousy. And hopefully Hunter will let go of hers — the sooner the better.
