Facebook: It's All About Me!

"This is what the Lord says:
'Don't let the wise boast in their wisdom,
or the powerful boast in their power,
or the rich boast in their riches.
But those who wish to boast
should boast in this alone:
that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord
who demonstrates unfailing love
and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth,
and that I delight in these things.
I, the Lord, have spoken!"
Jeremiah 29:23-24 (NLT)

Facebook has morphed the world into a narcissistic society. The majority of people use Facebook to constantly boast about and post pictures of themselves. In fact, even Christians have Facebook pages that are all about themselves — they contain very little or no information about their faith in God.

The Bible states firmly that we are not to boast about anything, except God alone. More specifically, we are not to boast about our intelligence, education, status, wealth, achievements, or appearance. God is the only One who is worthy to boast about. Everything we say, do, write, and picture should be centred around God and His Holy Scriptures.

Facebook has created a world that is all about me, and we need to constantly check that we are not falling into one of Satan's newest traps.
