All You Twinkling Stars

I can't wait till evening so I can turn off all the room lights and plug in the Christmas lights that decorate the interior of my home.

My tree is strung with brightly coloured LED lights:

The fireplace mantle in the dinning room is draped with white LED lights:

And the railings in the living room and along the stairs to the master bedroom are coiled with the same white LED lights:

When the Christmas lights are on, I love to sit in the large chair in the living room and dreamily remember of Christmases gone past. There has never been a Christmas that I haven't loved. It is such a special time of year for me.

Christmas lights inside and out have always enchanted me since I was a young girl. There is just something wondrous about viewing a multitude of tiny lights. It is the same kind of wonder that one feels while viewing the majestic display of starry lights that God set in the clear dark skies for us to enjoy all year round.

God says when the stars twinkle they praise Him. The galaxy assuredly reveals God's glory and majesty.

"Praise Him, sun and moon!
Praise Him, all you twinkling stars!"
Psalm 148:3

I believe that, just like the stars in the night, so also do tiny, glimmering Christmas lights give glory and praise to God. After all God is the Creator of all things and has absolute authority over everything.

The moment Jesus was born, the most notable of all the stars appeared in the sky to recognize and celebrate the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ.

"Where is the newborn kind of the Jews?
We saw His star as it rose,
and we have come to worship Him."
Matthew 2:2

This extraordinary star guided the wise men to the place Jesus was born.

"After this interview the wise men went their way,
and the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem.
It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was."
Matthew 2:9

Like the stars in the sky, the Christmas lights strung over the eaves of snow-laden homes during this wonderful season give praise  to the glorious King as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ — whether people acknowledge Christ's birth or not.
