"I Never Knew You"

What is truly in a person's heart will often be revealed when he/she reaches older age, or when his/her husband/wife becomes gravely ill or mentally diseased, or when he/she needs to show forgiveness. People can be very good at hiding the evil ugliness in their hearts, especially under titles such as "Christian," "Pastor," or "Televangelist." But when these people reach their seventies, eighties, and nineties, that disguise is no longer important or needed, and the selfish horridness within begins to rear its abominable face.

God knows what is truly in each of our hearts. He sees behind people's facades, and He warns us in His Word that He will bring out into the open what has been hidden, disclosed, and concealed.

"For there is nothing hidden
that will not be disclosed,
and nothing concealed
that will not be known
or brought out into the open."
Luke 8:17 (NIV)

The Bible says that many professing Christians who had flamboyant ministries will be turned away from Him because of their fraudulent life. God states in His Word that He will sternly call these people for what they are, and candidly tell them He never knew them.

"Many will say to me on that day,
'Lord, Lord,
did we not prophesy in Your Name,
and in Your Name drive our demons
and perform many miracles?'"
Then I will tell them plainly,
'I never knew you.
Away from me,
you evildoers.'"
Matthew 7:22-23 (NIV)

Do not be surprised or disinterested in the things of God when long-time claiming Christians, or popular pastors, or famous televangelists make ugly statements contrary to the character and heart of God, even manipulating Scripture to justify their sins. Such things were predicted long ago by Christ.

Jesus Christ will forever sit on His Throne in all authority and holiness.

We must look to Him for guidance and partake of His nature when facing the difficulties of life. If you do, you will be blessed beyond measure and welcomed by Him with open arms.
