Teach Me Your Ways That I May Live In Truth

God is truth. And truth means He possesses all logic.

"Jesus answered,
'I am the way,
the truth,
and the life.'"
John 14:6a (NLT)

The author of a recent CNN article contradicting the characteristics of God and explaining how foolishly dangerous it is for parents to teach their children about God, stated in her second charge against Him that He is not logical. This is because she could not understand a God who is so loving and all-powerful allowing bad things to happen to people.

However, the Bible says that bad things happen in our world because there are people who hate knowledge and choose not to fear the Lord. They reject His advice and pay no attention when God corrects them. Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way, choking on their own schemes. When people turn away from God, they will die and be destroyed by their own complacency. On the other hand, all those who listen to God will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.

"For they hated knowledge
and chose not to fear the Lord.
They rejected My advice
and paid no attention when I corrected them.
Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit
 of living their own way,
choking on their own schemes.
For simpletons turn away from me — to death.
Fools are destroyed by their own complacency.
But all who listen to Me will live in peace,
untroubled by fear of harm."
Proverbs 1:29-33 (NLT)

Therefore, every person must make a choice: whether to respect God and His Word, or reject Him and live his/her own way. If the majority of people reject God and ignore His Word, evil will reign. But those who love the Lord and His Word need never to fear. They are forever heirs of the King and will always be part of His glorious Kingdom.

It is only in God's teachings, not man's, that we are able to live according to truth.

"Teach me Your ways,
O Lord,
that I may live
according to Your truth."
Psalm 86:11 (NLT)
