Where Truly Is The Church's Heart?

Many church leaders and members grieve more over the lack of finances in the church than over the lost unsaved souls who are doomed to spend eternity in hell. Their main focus is not on God, but rather on money. They want the church to grow, but with financial gain in mind, storing up treasures more on earth than in heaven.

"Do not store up for yourselves
treasures on earth,
where moths and vermin destroy,
and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for yourselves
treasures in heaven,
where moths and vermin do not destroy,
and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also."
Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV)

To God the real treasures in heaven are the people. And God has given us everything we need through His Holy Spirit to reach, touch and save lives for His Kingdom. It is the power of God, not money, that attracts people to Him. Jesus, God's Son, was born in poverty, lived and walked in poverty, but His ministry was powerful and effective!
