God Changes The Seasons

At this moment, my husband, Brian, and I are on a plane to Charlottetown, PEI. Starting tomorrow, my youngest son, Matthew, will substitute for me by writing the daily devotionals. I can't wait to read them when I get back.

The summer season is changing despite the beautiful warm sunny days we are still having. The signs of fall are starting to appear. I took a picture yesterday in the park of this little tree all dressed in one of the many colours of fall.

"He changes times and seasons; He sets up kings and deposes them."
Daniel 2:21a

The Bible says that God changes the times and the seasons. It is not by chance, as many scientists believe. The changing of seasons is evidence of God's sovereign control of the world.

The Bible also says that God is in control of all the kings, queens, prime ministers, premiers, and presidents of the world. He places on the throne those whom He wills and removes them when He wills. So, in our unstable economy and uncertain future, we can rest assured in the sovereignty of God. We might sometimes be afraid that man is in control, but the truth is God has absolute authority over all the affairs of the world. We need not be fearful, but should trust in God's power and wisdom. It may not always be the outcome we desire, but God has a plan and knows best.
