Like A Gate Locked With Bars

This is a castle-like home near where we were staying in Bigfork, Montana. It is up for sale and my son Matthew loved the style of it.

As Christians we are told by God we must (not should) forgive those who have offended us.

"Make allowance for each other's faults,
and forgive anyone who offends you.
Remember, the Lord forgave you,
so you must forgive others."
Colossians 3:13 (NLT)

We are also told to not offend others either.

"Get rid of all bitterness, rage,
anger, harsh words, and slander,
as well as all types of evil behaviour.
Instead, be kind to each other,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another,
just as God through Christ
has forgiven you."
Ephesians 4:31-32 (NLT)

The Bible says an offended friend is harder to win back than a fortified city. Arguments separate friends like a gate locked with bars.

"An offended friend
is harder to win back
than a fortified city.
Arguments separate friends
like a gate
locked with bars."
Proverbs 18:19 (NLT)

Many close friendships, family relationships and marriages have been destroyed because of offenses and unforgiveness. Let us readily forgive and be careful not to offend. In churches, we hear much about forgiving, but very little about offending.
