Never Skipped A Heart Beat

In the Bible King Darius was easily persuaded by his administrators and satraps to issue a decree which stated that anyone who prayed to any god or human being during the next thirty days, except to King Darius, will be thrown into the lions' den.

Daniel, a true servant of God, disobeyed the King's decree to obey God. He was willing to sacrifice his life rather than sacrifice his relationship with God. Daniel never even skipped a day or even a heart beat. As soon as the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem and got down on his knees to pray, giving thanks to his God, just as he had always done before.

"Now when Daniel learned
that the decree had been published,
he went home to his upstairs room
where the windows opened toward Jerusalem.
Three times a day he got down
on his knees and prayed,
giving thanks to his God,
just as he had done before."
Daniel 6:10 (NIV)

Daniel knew it was better loose all his worldly privileges, than to loose God.
