A Longing Fulfilled Is A Tree Of Life

This week we had Elm trees planted in our neighbourhood up and down our streets. As I looked out of my living room window this morning, I thought the street looked beautiful! Then I imagined what it will look like ten years from now . . . even more beautiful! I have this hope because the trees have life in them.

As God's children, we also have hope because we have life in us through God's Son, Jesus Christ.

Trees are a reminder from God to us that we are to always have hope. If your hope is deferred, it will make your heart sick, but if your longing is fulfilled, you are a tree of life.

"Hope deferred
makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled
is a tree of life."
Proverbs 13:12 (NIV)

It is only in Christ, our thirsty souls are satisfied and our hungry souls are filled with goodness.

"For He has satisfied
the thirsty soul,
and the hungry soul
He has filled with
what is good."
Psalm 107:9 (NAS)
