They Beat Their Breasts

This Sunday, I will be teaching the children about the death of Jesus Christ. They will be making these crosses out of nails to help them remember the lesson.

All the people who witnessed the death of Jesus Christ and saw what took place, beat their breasts and went away.

"When all the people

who had gathered

to witness this sight

saw what took place,

they beat their breasts

and went away."

Luke 23:48 (NIV)

As believers and followers of Christ, may we too beat our breasts in anguish and openly protest those who and the things that continue to crucify Jesus Christ today. And may we always honour His death and resurrection by repenting of our sins, living righteously before God, and serving Him all the days of our lives.
