"I See Heaven Open!"

After Stephen gave his speech at the Sanhedrin, accusing the members of killing God's Son, the members of the Sanhedrin became so furious they gnashed their teeth at him. Stephen responded to their fierce anger by looking upwards. When he did, he saw heaven open and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. He then excitedly told all the members what he saw, but they refused to listen. The acted like children by covering their ears and yelling at the top of their voices.

"But Stephen,
full of the Holy Spirit,
looked up to heaven
and saw the glory of God,
and Jesus standing
at the right hand of God.
'Look,' he said,
'I see heaven open
and the Son of Man standing
at the right hand of God'."
Acts 7:55-56 (NIV)

The members of the Synagogue and the members of the Sanhedrin could not accept the responsibility of cruelly murdering God's Son, Jesus Christ, on the Cross, so they again murdered an innocent man.

When I was studying the Bible account of Stephen, I thought it was interesting that Stephen saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at His right hand in heaven. The Scriptures firmly state that Jesus is God, but this passage of Scripture indicates that we will see the two persons in heaven, even though they are one.
