Why Worry?

As I went for a walk yesterday, I took some pictures of beautiful flowers I saw growing, not in people's cultivated yards, but on land unowned — cared for by God Himself.

"And why worry about your clothes?
Look at the lilies and how they grow.
They do not work or make their clothing,
yet Solomon in all his glory
was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers
that are here today and gone tomorrow,
won't He surely care for you?
You have so little faith!"
Matthew 6:28-30

Have faith: as God's children, we do not need to worry because God will surely care for you as He cares for the lilies of the field. And you are so much more loved and valuable to God than flowers!

I was shocked to see a rose bush growing near a trail with natural growth of trees and plants all around.

"Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you."
1 Peter 5:7

When you gaze upon a beautiful flower this summer, particularly one in God's natural environment, be reminded of God's extravagant care for you and do not give into worrisome thinking. Anything that concerns you, concerns God. He has the desire and ability to take care of it all. Trust Him.
